Many people all over the country and even the world come to our state to vacation. They assume that we live the best life because we are here 24/7. No doubt, we have a great life here in Florida. Citrus County is full of beauty and nature. If you are like me though, sometimes a little getaway is great for resetting your soul.
We are lucky because there are so many options nearby. Day trips are great, but our family really loves building memories with weekend getaways. One of our favorite getaway locations is Orlando. There's always so many options of things to do. I must admit that of all the trips we've made, none of the places we have stayed have really made an impact that made me say, "We need to go back." That is, until I was invited by Meliá Resorts to stay at their Orlando, FL, location with a few other Macaroni KID publishers.

The first thing I noticed about the Meliá Orlando Resort was the friendly staff. Everyone was smiling and greeted me any time I was near, from the check in counter to a staff member passing in the hall. The positive atmosphere was contagious! I felt so uplifted from the moment I stepped in the door. Even getting a flat tire on my car didn't bring down my spirits, because guess what, Carrie from Meliá Orlando helped me with that too!
We were given a tour of the resort and the most exciting part for me was the family suites. They were gorgeous and spacious! As a mom with 4 teens, finding hotel rooms for us can be a challenge. The suites included a master bedroom, a second room with bunkbeds or two separate rooms, a kitchen, common room, and 2 bathrooms! I can't wait to make or next family trip to the Meliá Orlando because I know everyone will have plenty of space.

Not only is there plenty of space, Meliá Orlando is also close to many area attractions including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, and Icon Park. As an official Walt Disney World Good Neighbor hotel, Meliá Orlando is a perfect spot for home base when visiting all the area attractions.
I definitely suggest reserving at least a day to relax at the resort because they have so much to offer. They are also dog friendly and even have a dog park to entertain your furry friend.

While you're spending time at Meliá Orlando Resort, your family will enjoy games by the pool. Every weekend there's an inflatable slide as well as ping pong, Connect Four, and air soccer. The pool also has a basketball hoop and is temperature controlled so useable all year long. The pool also has a beach-style entrance which is perfect for those with young children. They also have many special events and activities. The weekend we attended included an 80's themed party by the pool.

If the pool isn't really your thing, don't worry. Meliá Orlando also offers a beach volleyball court and practice soccer field. If you have teens like mine, they will probably also require downtime with wifi. Meliá Orlando offers free wifi for all guests and with the multiple beds, spacious common room, and balcony there will plenty of space to just "chill."
I also recommend you either start your day or finish it with a visit to The Wilson. We had an amazing breakfast every morning we were there, it is the thing I miss the most after returning home. These croissant sandwiches were TO DIE FOR! Oh wait, but the fruit was delicious too and there's the avocado toast. Honestly, you just can't go wrong.
